Most schools layer new initiatives onto old foundations. The LEAD School starts with the question: what does a child actually need to thrive in a future none of us can predict?
“The future belongs to those who create it.”
“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”
Every program, every classroom, every decision flows through these four pillars.
Students learn to set direction, motivate others, and take ownership — starting in kindergarten.
Students learn to spot opportunity, design solutions, and turn ideas into reality.
Students learn to identify what matters and take meaningful action to make change.
Students learn that leadership means lifting others — and that they belong to something bigger.
These eight values are practiced daily and guide every instructional decision we make.
Takes bold, calculated risks to innovate and turn ideas into reality — even when the path is unclear.
Views mistakes and setbacks as opportunities for growth, reflection, and innovation. Takes risks, learns from failure, adapts quickly, and persists with courage and resilience.
Remains endlessly curious and committed to mastering new knowledge and skills.
Listens deeply, speaks with clarity and conviction, and writes with precision to inspire and influence.
Knows when to team up and when to step up — using collaboration and competition to bring out everyone's best.
Acts with honesty, fairness, and moral courage — especially when no one is watching.
Takes ownership of actions, learning, and growth by reflecting honestly, accepting feedback, and using it to improve.
Anticipates unseen challenges and designs innovative solutions that create new possibilities.
Our signature daily program — designed to develop the four pillars through real-world practice from kindergarten through 8th grade.
LEAD Class is intentionally designed to help students develop the four pillars that define a LEAD education: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Activism, and Duty to Community. Rather than treating these as abstract ideas, the LEAD Class gives students consistent, real-world opportunities to practice the skills and mindsets that future leaders need. Through a carefully sequenced, multi-year curriculum, students move from foundational skills in the early grades to advanced leadership and real-world application by eighth grade.
Students study leaders from diverse backgrounds and leadership traits like grit through fiction and non-fiction texts. Over time, they move from identifying leadership traits to applying them — ultimately shadowing and learning directly from leaders in their community.
Students develop the communication, etiquette, and presence that open doors in life. From basic social skills in the early grades to professional communication, networking, and digital etiquette in middle school.
Students learn the full cycle of entrepreneurship — idea generation, market research, design thinking, and pitching. What begins as creativity in the early years evolves into real businesses, pitches, and community-based ventures.
Students build strong financial literacy and consumer math skills — from identifying coins and the difference between needs and wants in kindergarten to creating business plans, budgets, and basic investing in 8th grade.
By 8th grade, students are not just learning concepts. They are leading conversations and events, launching and managing businesses, making strategic financial decisions, and applying their learning in authentic, community-based contexts. The LEAD Class is the thread that connects everything we do.
A typical day at LEAD is intentionally designed to balance strong academics, creativity, movement, leadership, and play. Our schedule reflects what research — and experience — tell us children need most to thrive.
Each day begins with Active Time and Morning Meeting to help students build relationships, develop communication skills, and start the day feeling connected and ready to learn.
A dedicated Literacy Block plus integrated reading and writing throughout the day gives students the essential 90+ minutes of daily literacy instruction proven to build strong readers and confident communicators. The literacy block includes a daily teacher-led Read Aloud because we believe every child benefits from hearing fluent reading, rich vocabulary, and meaningful discussion modeled by an adult.
Active Time & Adventure Play (80+ minutes daily): Students enjoy multiple blocks of unstructured outdoor play — at least 80 minutes every day. This isn't recess as usual — it's intentional Adventure Play that builds resilience, creativity, and social skills.
Project-Based Learning (PBL) Block: Our signature PBL time weaves together social studies, science, math, and literacy standards into meaningful, hands-on projects. Students don't just learn about the world — they create solutions for it.
LEAD Time: Daily dedicated time to live out our Four Pillars — Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Activism, and Duty to Community.
The more interest we gather, the faster we can bring The LEAD School to your community.
