Why teach here

If you've ever thought, "I wish I could just build it the way it should be" — this is that chance.

Most schools are systems that ask great teachers to do their best work within tight constraints. The LEAD School is being built around the way great teaching actually happens — with project-based learning at the core, multi-age cohorts, generous outdoor time, restorative culture, and the freedom to teach the whole child.

We're not asking founding teachers to slot into someone else's vision. We're asking them to help us build it.

What you'll find here

A teaching life that respects your craft.

🎯

Real instructional voice

Founding teachers help shape curriculum, schedule, and culture — not implement someone else's playbook.

🤝

Built-in collaboration partner

Multi-age classrooms mean every grade band has two teachers planning together, not one teacher in isolation.

📚

Two-year student loops

You keep your students for two years. Less re-introducing, more deep teaching and stronger relationships.

🌲

Outdoor classroom time

Real teaching happens outside too. Every class has a dedicated outdoor space and a culture that values play.

🧭

Restorative culture

You're not the discipline office. You're part of a school where conflict becomes a teaching moment, not a referral.

🚀

Career trajectory

Founding faculty become department leads, program designers, and future school leaders as we grow.

Who we're looking for

Builders, not just instructors.

The right person for our founding faculty doesn't have to be the most experienced teacher in the room — but they do need to be the kind of person who:

  • Sees the gap between how school is and how it should be — and wants to help close it.
  • Brings rigor and joy to academics in equal measure.
  • Believes children rise to high expectations when they're trusted and supported.
  • Wants to be challenged by colleagues and to challenge them in return.
  • Embraces feedback, reflection, and growth as core parts of their practice.
  • Is willing to roll up their sleeves and help build the systems, traditions, and culture from scratch.

If reading this made you nod, we'd love to hear from you.

You don't need to have all the answers. You need to be curious, capable, and committed to building something better with us.
